Professor Dr. Chowdhury is an internationally recognized academic leader, educator, researcher, and global health advocate whose distinguished contributions to public health, global health education, and academic leadership make her an invaluable addition to the PHA family. Currently serving as Professor & Head of Community Medicine, Faculty of Public Health at Bangladesh University of Health Sciences (BUHS), she also serves as Director of Operations of the International Cooperation, Partnership & Research Center (ICP & RC) and Member Secretary of the Ethical Review Committee. She is also an Adjunct Faculty at Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP), a Tutor at Maastricht University, Netherlands, and a Research Fellow at INTI International University, Malaysia. A respected global health professional, Dr. Chowdhury holds key international leadership roles, including Vice President of the Asian Bioethics Association, Co-Chair of the Competency Sub-Committee at CUGH, and contributor to the Global Health Educators’ Community (GHECo). Her outstanding scholarly contributions include co-authoring the updated definition of Global Health and serving as editor of the 3rd Edition of the CUGH Global Health Education Competencies Toolkit. Most recently, her excellence in global health education was recognized through the prestigious 2026 Dr. Anvar and Pari Velji Global Health Award for Teaching Excellence at the Washington CUGH conference.
